One of the biggest books of the year will be Peter Carey's new novel 'Parrot and Olivier in America'. The author has already won the Man Booker prize twice and this should at the very least get him a longlisting if not a shortlist appearance.

A new novel from Martin Amis is always eagerly anticipated and his latest 'The Pregnant Widow' is bound to attract as much appreciation as criticism. Set mainly in the 1970s this novel re-visits familiar Amis territory. Signed copies due later in the month.

If you enjoyed Andrea Levy's 'Small World' then this new novel 'The Long Song' may be another good read. Set in Jamaica the story is about the last turbulent years of slavery.

Watch out for Paul Murray's 'Skippy Dies' - a three volume paperback original in a slipcase. This bizarre story set in a Dublin boarding school may well become a word of mouth success.

A book that created quite a noise when it was offered to publishers is Paul Hoffman's 'Left Hand of God' - the first of a trilogy and one to consider if you like a mixture of alernative reality fiction mixed with an element of fantasy. You will find this book on our Just In pages and we now have a few signed copies.

Eagerly awaited and now available is the new Jasper Fforde novel 'Shades of Grey'. This is a the start of a new series. Signed copies now available.
